About This Session

This rugby skills development session brought together students from local schools to build fundamental movement patterns and ball-handling techniques. The session was designed to create a supportive learning environment where young people could develop confidence alongside practical sport skills.

Through a series of structured drills and team-based activities, students worked on coordination, spatial awareness, and communication—skills that translate beyond the rugby field into everyday life and future work environments.

The Impact

Rugby training sessions like this one provide more than just sport skills. They create a space where young people can build trust, develop resilience, and form connections with coaches and peers who support their growth.

For many students, these sessions are a doorway to greater confidence, improved wellbeing, and pathways toward education and employment opportunities through our connected programmes.

Building Pathways

Our rugby training connects directly to our wider pathway programmes. Students who engage with sport often move into our education hub, wellbeing support, and ultimately into work experience and employment opportunities through our industry partnerships.
