About Apex Foundation

More Than a Foundation.
A Movement for Change.

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed — regardless of where they start. Through education, employment, and community connection, we're opening doors and building futures across New Zealand.

Our Mission

Connecting Young People to Their Futures

Apex Foundation exists to create real pathways from education into meaningful employment. We don't just prepare students for work — we provide work.

01

Education First

Our Education Hub connects schools, students, employers, and industry through coordinated pathways — supporting Year 11-13 students into employment, apprenticeships, and tertiary education.

02

Real Employment

Through Apex Property Group and our employer network, we provide actual work placements, apprenticeships, and career opportunities in construction, civil infrastructure, trades, and beyond.

03

Community Connection

We partner with best-in-class organisations — Blue Light, mental health providers, recruiters, and industry leaders — to wrap support around every student's journey.

How We Help

Supporting Students Every Step

From the moment a student joins us to the day they start their career, we're there — providing mentorship, resources, opportunities, and pathways to success.

What We Provide

Apex Foundation supports rangatahi through a comprehensive model that connects all the pieces:

Our Approach

Connect, Don't Duplicate

We align existing best-in-class organisations rather than building new programmes. Everything needed already exists — our job is coordination under one Education Hub.

01

Hub & Spoke Model

The Apex Education Hub is the central connector — bringing together schools, students, parents, employers, industry, community, and government into one coordinated network.

02

Partner Alignment

We work with proven partners: Apex Property Group, Blue Light, Kiwi Staff, Unite Recruit, mental health providers, civil contractors, and trades networks — all aligned under shared values.

03

Measurable Outcomes

Every student journey is tracked. We measure employment placement rates, apprenticeship conversions, programme completion, and long-term career outcomes — because data drives credibility.

The Story Behind Apex

The Lessons That Shaped My Life

When people ask me what changed my life, my answer is surprisingly simple. It wasn't one job. It wasn't one business. It wasn't one property development. It was people.

Looking back, every major turning point in my life can be traced back to someone who believed in me before I fully believed in myself.

A farmer who taught me the value of hard work. A tradesman who gave me an apprenticeship. A boss who gave me a second chance when I didn't deserve one. A mate who saw potential in me and changed the direction of my life with one conversation.

Mentors who generously shared their knowledge, experience and time. Business leaders who opened doors. Clients who trusted me. Friends who challenged me to think bigger.

Every one of those people helped shape the person I have become.

That is why I believe mentors change lives. No one succeeds alone.

Built on Values, Not Just Talent

The other lesson life has taught me is that success isn't built on talent alone. It's built on values.

  • Discipline
  • Hunger
  • A willingness to work hard
  • The ability to work smart
  • The courage to dream bigger than your current circumstances
  • The humility to keep learning
  • The discipline to listen more than you speak
  • The determination to keep going when life becomes difficult
  • Most importantly, treating every person with respect

Throughout my journey I have been fortunate enough to meet people from every walk of life. From the labourer working beside me on a construction site to CEOs of major companies, community leaders, professional athletes, government ministers — even the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

The lesson has always been the same. Every person deserves respect. It doesn't matter what job they have, where they come from or what title they hold. Character is what matters.

Never Forget Your Roots

One thing I have always tried to do is stay true to where I came from. Never forget your roots. Stay humble. Keep learning. Keep helping others. Because success means very little if you don't bring other people with you.

One of the moments that has impacted me the most has been recognising how far life has come. As a child, I grew up in a family that understood what it was like to struggle financially. Today, through Apex Property Group, we have the privilege of building and delivering social housing for families across New Zealand.

That is something I never imagined would be part of my journey. Going from a child who grew up understanding the importance of affordable housing to helping provide homes for others has completely changed my perspective.

It reminds me every day that circumstances do not define your future. Opportunity does.

What the Apex Foundation Is Really About

That experience has reinforced what I believe the Apex Foundation is really about. It's not just about sport. It's not just about construction. It's not just about education. It's about people.

It's about helping young people believe that their future can be different from their past.

If we can surround our young people with the right mentors… If we can expose them to positive role models… If we can connect them with education… If we can give them real opportunities through industry… If we can teach them discipline, resilience and respect… Then I genuinely believe there is no limit to what they can achieve.

Every child deserves someone who believes in them. Every child deserves the opportunity to dream. Because every great achievement starts with a dream.

Dream big. Work hard. Stay humble. Treat people with respect. Never stop learning. Never stop believing.

And when you succeed, reach back and help the next person.

That's the legacy I hope the Apex Foundation leaves for generations to come.
